| Beethoven
A three piece from Cork (long before the franks formed) the band were previously known as 'Five Go Down to Sea'. They released three singles in total, two of which were released on Abstract and one was released on Creation. Their best known release was 'The Glee Club' which was actually where that band got their name! Beethoven released only one 12" (see discography) shortly before they were due to record their second single for Setanta (which was to be a cover of Queens 'Bohemian Rhapsody'). The band’s lead singer (who was a BIG drinker) drowned after drinking 4 litres of Cider and going for a swim in Hyde Park’s Serpentine. The rest of the band split up and moved back to Ireland shortly afterwards. 0 0 |
